Calan Porter is the liveliest of resorts, and set at the heart of the popular south coast, only ten minutes drive from the airport.
Undoubtedly the island’s biggest attraction is there are over 100 beaches to choose from. Some of the most popular and developed beaches are found on the southern coastline. Many have shallow waters and gently sloping sands which are ideal for children.
Calan Porter Villas & Pools will put you in the ideal location to enjoy a thoroughly comprehensive experience, that makes this one of the most fascinating of all the Balearic Islands.
Menorca, the second largest of the Balearic Islands, is a delightful destination offering great beaches, beautiful landscapes and a leisurely pace – an ideal combination for a family holiday. Menorca has more beaches than all of the other Balearic islands put together - 120 spread over its’ 200km of coastline – ranging from tiny secluded spots nestled in the rocks, to long stretches of golden sand flanked by hotels and beach bars. A holiday in Menorca generally means lazy days on the beach, leisurely delicious meals, scenic coastal walks, and the occasional spot of shopping.
Cala’n Porter, situated on the south west coast of Menorca, is one of the oldest and most established resorts on the island, and a firm favourite with British tourists. The resort sits high on a cliff top overlooking the large sandy beach, and with plenty of hotels and apartment complexes, many with excellent childrens’ facilities, Cala’n Porter is a popular choice for a family holiday.
The beach at Cala’n Porter is a large horseshoe shaped expanse of golden sand, gently shelving into warm safe waters, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Access to the beach from the clifftop is either down a steep flight of almost 200 steps, or a mini-train which travels down a long winding road, but once reached, the beach provides a perfect base for the entire day, with the sandy cove protected by the cliffs - creating a wonderful suntrap. There are bars and restaurants on the beach, as well as parking, and sunbeds, umbrellas and pedalos can be hired. A wide range of accommodation is available on the eastern side of Cala’n Porter, from apartments and villas to large family-orientated hotels.                   English pubs and restaurants
Cala’n Porter is one of the more lively resorts on Menorca, catering to the British crowd with English pubs, restaurants and supermarkets. The entertainment is mainly hotel-based, but Cala’n Porter is home to the most famous nightclub on the island, the impressive Caves of Xoroi, a series of natural caves set deep into the cliff face, which by night is turned into a unique club with a dancefloor overlooking the sea. Families will enjoy the childrens’ play area in Cala’n Porter, with go-karts, rides, a bouncy castle, trampolines and a ball-pit, and the convenient road train makes frequent stops throughout the resort. Whilst holidaying in Cala’n Porter, a car is recommended to explore all the sights that Menorca has to offer, from the picturesque harbour of Mahon, to the hike up Mount Toro, the highest peak on the island.
